A lifelong Bay Area native, Mike’s life was changed at the age of 18 after reading Frank Miller’s ‘Elektra: Assassin’. He was inspired by the interconnectivity of the universe’s characters created by Stan Lee, Chris Claremont, Frank Miller, and many others, as well as literary talents of Richard Wright, James Baldwin, Joseph Heller and Toni Morrison.
Mike’s work Squadron 7 tells of a team of heroes struggling with their grief after losing several members in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. His motivation for this story is twofold: “I wanted to make a statement about this country and how this event fundamentally changed us; also I wanted to tell a story about a family coming together after a tragedy and moving forward.”
