About National Press Comics
NPC is a partnership of like minded creators who seek to gather the best unsigned hype in the industry. Founded in 2000, the current partners are Jaimel Hemphill, Fred Highbaugh, and Diane Huffman. All NPC publications are creator owned; meaning NPC handles the promotion and distribution, but the trademarks and copyrights are wholly owned by the original creators.
We are dedicated to pushing boundaries and showcasing true diversity in the comic medium. Our creator owned titles run the gamut of literary genres: Horror, Fantasy, Super Hero, Sci-Fi, and everything in between. Put simply: We Make Comics. For Everyone.
About the Role
This role is an unpaid internship with the potential to become a a paid role later this year. The Social Media Intern will work closely with the Creative Director, assisting creators in engaging with our audiences by creating content for NPC’s social media accounts (Instagram, Tik Tok, Spoutible, LinkedIn, YouTube), copywriting, and reporting on post insights and channel growth. The intern will also learn the processes used to organize and strategize content. The Social Media intern must love brainstorming content ideas and identifying opportunities to capture audiences via timely topics and trends.
What You’ll Do
- Write social media copy
- Build out weekly reports that include post performance data and highlight timely trends on TikTok or Reels
- Engage and encourage conversation with our followers and community
- Assist our Content Coordinator in visual content by sourcing and reviewing work for hire artists.
What We Value
- Ability to accurately and effectively represent the NPC brand as the broadcast voice of the institution over social media.
- Knowledge of/interest in comics
- Ability to communicate with wit and humor
- Creative mindset and always up to date on what’s trending
- Knowledge of Hootsuite and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
- Expertise in social media platforms (Instagram, Tik Tok, Spoutible, LinkedIn, YouTube)
- Concern for detail and accuracy; excellent language, spelling, and grammar skills
